Purpose: Use the Memory Flash Clear & Reset when a sensor has been offline for an extended period and its memory is likely full, which can prevent it from reconnecting with the Gateway.
Tools and Materials Required
Step 1: Re-power the Gateway. Leaving the ethernet cable plugged into the Gateway and the router, un-power the Gateway by unplugging the USB cable, waiting 10 seconds and then re-powering the Gateway. Once the green light is solid (can take up to 2 minutes), go to the Sensor.
Step 2: Memory flash-clear the Sensor. With the power still connected to the Sensor, we will want to flash-clear the sensor’s memory. Do this by the following steps:
Step 3: Power-cycle the Sensor. Remove the negative lead from the Sensor power terminal (the second terminal from the top). Press the “+” button while the negative lead is out to ensure the sensor board does not have power (LED should not light up). Plug the negative lead back into the Sensor and wait 2 full minutes for it to reboot.
Step 4: Verification. After the 2 minute Sensor reboot, commit a few test soundings, three is fine) by pressing the “+” button on the top of the Sensor until you see the green LED flash and then immediately release. Wait about 10 seconds in between each sounding. You should hear the sounder make a “thump” after each manual reading if the Sensor and Gateway are properly communicating. Verify the readings by logging on to your my.wellntel.comaccount and viewing the new data points on the hydrograph.
If this procedure did not result in successful communication between the Sensor and Gateway, reattempt Steps 1-3. If the second attempt results in no communication, please call us for assistance at 844-935-5426 or email us at techsupport@wellntel.com.
